About PCSX-Revolution Project

Firstly,Just to clarify, is this an unofficial stump of WiiSX? Cause I seen on their page that they didn't want anyone doing stuff to their code and seeing some of your source has me worried that this may be the case. I dont mean to sound nasty or anything, but I just wanted to clarify.Secondly,Will we see anything (besides actually compiling the file ourselves) as to just how well this program works compared to WiiSX? Like a YouTube video or something? BPzeBanshee 13:35, 28 June 2009 (UTC)

This is not an unofficial stump of WiiSX. --Drugold 15:51, 28 June 2009 (UTC)
I'm will not make videos like that. If you want to compare, just do it yourself. I don't compete with wiisx-team, rather, want to help.
All I can say is what it stable, I played 11 hours in FF4 and 7 hours in FF9 without reboots with rev1. Newer rev's i'm not tested... --Firnis 17:59, 28 June 2009 (UTC)
Allright, thanks for the reply, just wanted to clarify. Keep up with the good work. BPzeBanshee 06:02, 29 June 2009 (UTC)

Does this actually work? Slinden 16:45, 28 June 2009 (UTC)

Yes. --Firnis 17:59, 28 June 2009 (UTC)
...but not nearly as well as the last WiiSX build on the svn.--Arikado 18:06, 28 June 2009 (UTC)
Progress is being made, Im sure it'll get competitive with WiiSX soon. We do need alternate development on a PSX emu for the Wii whether the other dudes like it or not. I'm optimistic for this thing. BPzeBanshee 06:18, 29 June 2009 (UTC)

Load original PSX discs

A quick question if you please: what are the chances of this emulator eventually having the ability to load original PSX disks? ISO's are nice and all, but I'd rather use my originals if at all possible. -Kage Korosu 17:15, 29 June 2009 (UTC)

Wii does NOT support CD-ROM/R/RW. --Drugold 18:05, 29 June 2009 (UTC)
However, it does have USB ports to which one could connect a CD-ROM drive. .Hyper//Hacker 10:29, 5 July 2009 (UTC)

Hi, just downloaded and installed Rev. 18 but I can't find my game on the SD card. I'm trying to play Metal Gear Solid 1. I have a bin / cue file (and ISO) in the ./wiisx/games folder, but it's not showing anything up on the list. I'm running 4.0 with a 2gb SD card (NOT SDHC). I'll keep fiddling with files on my card, but just thought I'd let you know. Grayda 13:00, 30 June 2009 (UTC)

I had the exact same problem with Caslevania Chronicles. It refused to recognize the bin/cue files for it. WiiSX beta 1 worked perfect though.--Arikado 13:26, 30 June 2009 (UTC)
Please, try it without .cue, only .bin... Maybe cue support is broken...--Firnis 17:31, 30 June 2009 (UTC)

Please, write about these and other issues here --Drugold 17:28, 30 June 2009 (UTC)

Your game images must fit two criteria: The extension has to be lowercase and there has to be a space in the filename. 'MGS 1.bin' for example--FUNKAMATIC~talk 00:26, 5 July 2009 (UTC)

Control problems

first off i want to say thank you for such a good job, But i have a pretty annoying problemthe games works fine, except the controls are a little screwy. when i move left right whatever. the game doesn't refresh the button press i think... what happens for me is i press left and my character continually moves left until i press any button on the wii pad, (whether or not it is assigned, for example 2 isn't assigned as anything in game, But if i press 2 he will stop moving left. But if i move left. and then want to move right it wont work unless i press a buttonthis can be over ridden by holding a button. which is ok as i am playing breath of fire 3. so i have to hold a button to run. But it's annoying because i have to hold the button in menue's battles, and anything else that requires movement.i tried other games and it still doesn't work properly. any idea's?Durda dan 17:54, 4 July 2009 (china time)

you should report the problems you find here. Also, try playing your game with non-analog controls (change in the settings).--FUNKAMATIC~talk 00:28, 5 July 2009 (UTC)

Rev28

Awesome update. The speed-up is very welcome. This is working really well now, good stuff.--FUNKAMATIC~talk 02:57, 9 July 2009 (UTC)

Audio Plugin?

Did you code an audio plugin yourself or are you using someone else's? The reason I ask is because your emulator actually plays the background music in my Spyro games (not good, but good enough) while other PC-based do not (and I did switch plugins and edit options, etc.). I'm very happy because Spyro without background music makes it less enjoyable. Thanks for the emu. -TPAINROXX/BKW 05:11, 10 July 2009 (UTC)

I take audio plugin from r57 (pre-beta) of wiiSX. --Firnis 12:51, 10 July 2009 (UTC)
Ok Thanks. I might have to check that plugin out... -TPAINROXX/BKW 15:15, 12 July 2009 (UTC)

Multi-Disc Games

Do games with multiple disks work with this emulator? Because I want to download and play Final Fantasy IX on it. --Bowser the Second 04:52, 13 July 2009 (UTC)

Multi-Disc Games are not supported at this time. --Drugold 09:52, 13 July 2009 (UTC)

Please, please, PLEASE do something about this soon! It's my first time playing Metal Gear Solid, and I can't continue. Not to mention that many of the Playstation's best games have multiple discs, like FF VII-IX, Alone in the Dark, GT2, and the previously mentioned MGS. Somebody that can code and respects the artistic integrity of brilliant games, HELP! --BagelSnake 02:01, March 3 2012 (GMT)

Comments

Hi there, just got some comments on this emulator.

First of all, I tried out two games. Rakugaki Showtime, a 3D game with 2D sprites, ran very well. It ran at an average of 41 FPS. Some parts were extremely fast, for example, the character KO animation, which takes about 5 seconds to view on real hardware, played at .5 seconds! Otherwise, it was playable.

I tried, also, Rayman. It got stuck at the 'Ubisoft' logo, and didn't play the jingle it should have. Unplayable.

When I get a larger SD card, I'll be sure to test out some more games.--Namo 17:29, 12 August 2009 (UTC)

No Instructions?

This page should probably have some intructions.--Munnyz 18:16, 5 December 2009 (UTC)

Where can I get games?

Iso

I'm new around here and i was wondering where to download PSX Games...all of my old PSX games are backups, and I've lost most of themCould anyone direct me to a site? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jish (talk • contribs) 07:22, 6 December 2009 (UTC)

Hi there. You're clearly fairly new around these parts-- downloading games is illegal, and not to be discussed here. The best place online for you to search games is probably amazon or ebay, meaning to purchase the actual discs. (It's easy to find most PS1 games, save for the more popular ones like FF7, selling for under $10.) Once you've got the real disc, ripping them to BIN format is a breeze with almost any disk imaging utility. I use ImgBurn myself (it's simple, to the point, and non-bloated) but just about any program can do the job so long as it's in BIN (Or ISO? Someone confirm), which the emulator understands. controller implementation

Hello

i'd just like to start out by asking if there will be usb controller implementation, for those who want full psx controller implementation through the 'ios they used for the logitech wheel[an HID]',which could then be used with a psx controller through a usb adaptor.Umashi
